💜 The Story Behind the Art

Tiger Eyes is one of my most personal pieces.

I painted it one night while thinking about my dad, who passed away at only 47. He was a huge LSU fan, and that night I was missing him and crying while I painted. As the tiger began to take shape, I intentionally gave him tears too.

For years, I never really told the story behind this painting. It was simply a memory I kept to myself. What surprised me was that Tiger Eyes went on to become one of my most loved pieces. Maybe people saw something in those eyes without ever knowing the story behind them.

Now I'm finally sharing the story that inspired the art.
